Sure, we’re known as a leader in the metal fabrication and welding business, but we play another role in our community: we make a difference by supporting local sports and charity organizations.
Supporting community initiatives is an investment. We share our time, skills and other resources with people who need it, and our towns and region get stronger and more vibrant. It’s also one of the ways we show our customers that we care about where we live and work.
Building Leadership Skills in our Youth
We make a point of supporting local sports organizations. Playing sports helps young people develop a sense of responsibility—to themselves, to each other and to their fans.
The youth sports programs we support also show kids how to build on their strengths and help each other overcome their weaknesses. What does that have to do with welding in Edmonton? When they feel strong and appreciated, kids learn to become better citizens. And one day, they might even become fellow entrepreneurs or employees at our business.
The Drayton Valley Thunder hockey team, a member of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, is proudly supported by Advantage Manufacturing. Attendance at home games is on the rise, which is a sign of pride and cohesiveness in our region.
The Breton High School football program trains youth to stay fit, get strong and work together as a team. To help them, we built blocking sleds for team training sessions.
The Drayton Valley Wildcats—the fine young men of the North Central Senior AA Hockey League—do their best to represent their town and families in the arena. We support them and share in their pride at every opportunity.
Making Life a Bit Better, One Kid at a Time
One of the ways we bring goodwill to our community is by supporting the Northern Alberta Make-A-Wish Foundation. This charity helps local children with life-threatening medical conditions feel hope and joy by facilitating dream-come-true experiences.
